Age: Infants
We partner with parents to care for their baby’s everyday needs, whether it is for food, dry diapers, attention or hugs. We believe infant feeding times are times of nurturing and social interaction. We will never prop a bottle or put a baby to sleep with one. Babies nap and eat according to their individual schedules, therefore we tend to their individual needs. The classroom is filled with developmentally appropriate toys that the babies have access to throughout the day.

Age: One Year Old
At this age the children begin to expand their social world and become more and more independent. They love playtime with their peers, but they still need a lot of staff attention and individual time, and we love to give it to them. You will see the children blossoming as their verbal skills start to really explode and they begin to learn new things such as their colors, shapes, and counting. They will have plenty of learning opportunities and at this age they begin to develop friendships with the other children in their class. It is always a new adventure in our one-year-old classroom.

Age: Two Years
Our goal is to provide a variety of developmentally appropriate hands-on activities for children to explore and manipulate. The activities throughout the day will help develop language, gross and fine motor skills. Our daily interactions will foster positive self-concepts, socials skills and reasoning skills. As children are ready to sit and participate in circle times, these opportunities will be available. Activities throughout the day include free play, texture table, play dough, concept games, art, stories, Bible stories, music, outside play, quiet time, and nap time.

Age: Three Years
Classroom and Childcare

The preschool classroom includes children enrolled part-time a few days a week, and those enrolled for preschool plus childcare. In both, age-appropriate activities are designed to help develop language, gross and fine motor skills. Throughout our time together, we seek to foster children's positive self-concepts, socials skills and reasoning skills, as well as help them develop increasing coordination for their growing bodies.

Age: Four and Five Years (VPK)

Who We Are and What We Stand For
Our Philosophy
At Grace Lutheran Early Learning Center, we know children are important (Psalm 127:3). As an outreach ministry of Grace Lutheran Church Saint Cloud, we work to provide a loving Christian environment for each child to know they are special and loved. Each child is a unique individual and we work to build their confidence through relationships with us and others. The Christ and child centered learning environment in each of our classrooms include integrating intellectual and spiritual growth and provides a nurturing and stimulating place where our students can thrive as they develop creativity and build problem-solving skills.
In accordance to our goal, children will "Grow in the grace and knowledge of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18) through play with proper developmental approved curriculum and materials that will prepare the child for the daily challenges of an ever-changing world and develop students total abilities: spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and social.
Our Objectives
To enlighten each child to know and love the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through the Word of God so they can share Jesus' love in their homes and communities. (Mark 16:15)
Nurture each child to grow in his or her faith through regular God-centered daily instruction. Use age appropriate teachings to allow each child to grow emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. (Proverbs 22:6)
Maintain close contact with families in the communities of Saint Cloud, Kissimmee, greater Orlando and rural Osceola County, and assist them in their walk with Christ and support their education goals. (Acts 2:42)
Our Director
Rijean Smith has worked in Early Childhood Education for over thirty (30) years, with more than eighteen (18) years of experience as a director. She is excited to serve as the director of Grace Lutheran Early Learning Center to lead and guide the little ones and share God's love for them.
Her love of Jesus is apparent in her interactions with the children, parents, the Early Learning Center staff, and others with whom she has contact. Rijean has been married for 40 years to Andy. They have three adult children and nine grandchildren as well as lots of extended family in Saint Cloud. Her love for them is evident.
